Originally part of the 83 Lore trailer (83: Cold War Gone Hot), these were created to add a bit more story to the world.

Whilst 83 is technically set around a historical period, the open conflict in the game results from real scenarios that went differently.

For these particular sequences, I researched a lot of old New archive footage from the time to mimic the styles used and the sort of designs that West and East broadcasters used. I gave the whole sequence a good old fashioned retro processing as well, to limit the colours available on screens at the time and emulate the CRT television look.

The VO was done in house for the Soviet side, and a voice actors was brought in to do the Western news anchor.
